Step into a wonderland

As a young boy I was always pretending, was playing out intense narratives with my collection of miscellaneous heroes and mascots, or in the shop with my Dad designing and making wooden swords and guns. If I wasn't doing either of those I was drawing diligently. The sketchbooks stacked up. My mother would teach me color and help me expand into paints. Acrylics, oils, water colors. She broadened my horizons for architecture and interior design half spent watching HGTV with her. My father gave me an old camera to play around with and film my stories. From there I ran. Any project at school was a moment to make a film. An outing with friends could be turned into a memorable reel. But I wanted to make films, real films. With big sets, cool costumes, touching stories, and big explosions! I earned a degree in Film and TV Production Design at the University of NC School of the Arts, and now I’m here, Burbank California. - Jonah TW
